Noted and renown Filipino inventor Francisco Oral Pagayon has been named one of this year’s “Ulirang Ama” awardees by the Uliranag Ama, Ina Foundation, Inc. The honor came in time with the world’s observance of “Father’s Day.”
The Ulirang Ina Ama Awards Foundation, Inc. pays tributes to model Filipino fathers and mothers who exemplify integrity, high moral principles, and ideal ways of nurturing children.
Pagayon or Popoy to his friends, is also known as an “inventrepinoy,” or Filipino inventor and entrepreneur. He has received numerous accolades and recognitions for his various inventions and achievements.
He was accorded the honors and award under the “business and industry” category, in a special program and rites held June 16 at the Centennial Hall of the historic Manila Hotel.
Pagayon is also broadcaster and publisher, and presently heads the Filipino Inventors Society Producers Cooperative (FISPC) aside from other organizations. Above all else, however, he is decidedly a great father to his five children who are all professionals now.
The Ulirang Ina Ama Awards Foundation Inc. is a non-profit, non-stock organization that undertakes many noteworthy projects. The Ulirang Ina and the Ulirang Ama Awards are only two among them.
Pagayon’s co-awardees in the same category are Atty. Nelson A. Tan, Mr. Nestor S. Mangio, Jose P. De Jesus, Solomon Oh Lee, Pelagio Chan and George V. Cabarloc Jr.
As FISPC president, Popoy Pagayon focuses his time and attention to helping promote Filipino inventions and their commercialization worldwide.
